What is Cogel Mammoplasty?

"Cogel (Cohesive Gel) is the most widely used implant recently approved by the U.S. FDA, which improved the controversial issue of conventional silicone gel. Made of silicone in the form of gelatin with cohesive properties, it does not flow or spread even when it is cut. It has the advantages of natural feel and design compared to silicone."

Cogel mammoplasty implant

Cohesive Gel _ Round type

This is the most common type of implant. It has the round bottom and the highest shape in the middle. Surgical method by incision part

Armpit incision

Method : 2~4cm incision of underarm wrinkles

Advantages : - Small scars and natural shape after surgery
- Preservation of senses due to no damage around the nipple
- Short operation time and quick recovery

Disadvantages : Slight arm discomfort immediately after surgery

Areola incision

Method : Incision along the underside of the areola

Advantages : - Easy to secure space to insert implant
- Less pain and relatively free movement of arms

Disadvantages : Not possible with small areolas

underline incision method

Method : 3-4cm incision of wrinkles formed in the place where the breasts are naturally folded above the belly

Advantages : The simplest operation and the shortest operation time

Disadvantages : Scars may be visible when lying down
Surgical method by implant insertion position

The surgical methods according to the implant position include submuscular insertion that is inserted under the muscle based on the pectoral muscle called the pectoralis major muscle, sub-mammary gland insertion over muscle and dual plane inserted over muscle.

Submuscular insertion method

Method : The way the implant is inserted under the pectoral muscle called the pectoralis major muscle

Advantages : The most preferred method as it can be shaped like a waterdrop with a natural touch

Disadvantages : Breast tissue and muscles are swelling at the same time, causing pain and requiring somewhat longer recovery period

Dual plane (duplex breast augmentation)

Method : 2/3 of the implant is located below the breast muscles and 1/3 above the breast muscles

Advantages : It can prevent the double-line-shaped breasts where double-layer lines are formed.

Disadvantages : Since it is a high-level surgery, a specialist with no experience in breast surgery may cause side effects during surgery

sub-mammary method

Method : The way the implant is inserted just below the breast tissue above the pectoralis major

Advantages : Simple surgery and less pain because muscle expansion is omitted

Disadvantages : A method that does not perform frequently because of the possibility of capsular contracture
